Masham is ideally located for touring and walking in the whole of the Yorkshire Dales as well as the North York Moors with the historic cities of York, Ripon and Durham within easy driving distance.

FROM THE NORTH
Take the A1 South towards Wetherby and Leeds. Come off toward Leeming Bar and follow signs to Masham. Upon entering Masham take the left fork up the hill onto Silver street, follow the road around the right hand corner then first right onto College Lane. Barn owl cottage is at the end of the lane on the corner.
FROM THE SOUTH Take the A1 North towards Scotch corner. Come off the A1 and take the A61 junction signposted 'Ripon / Thirsk'. At roundabout follow the B6267 to Masham (it runs parallel to the A1 for a short distance before turning left at the roundabout). Masham is around 10-15 minutes from here. Upon entering Masham take the left fork up the hill onto Silver street, follow the road around the right hand corner then first right (at fruit & veg shop) onto College Lane. Barn owl cottage is at the end of the lane on the corner.
Public transport
The nearest train station is Northallerton (14 miles away) or Thirsk (15 miles away). Buses are available from Ripon (30 minute journey) and from Northallerton (55 minutes) and we recommend these links when planning your journey by public transport:
